Happy Pi Day! Huge thank you to Bartram Springs, Middleton-Burney, and Thunderbolt Elementary for inviting me to talk weather and share The Weather Watchers with them! Seeing their excitement for weather and science was truly inspiring. STEM is for everyone! The future is SO bright! ☀️

I’m beyond grateful for the thoughtful thank you drawing from a second grader at Bartram Springs Elementary! Today, I’m wearing purple to inspire women and girls to see themselves in STEM on Pi Day. No matter who you are or what you wear, there’s always a place for you in science, technology, engineering, and math — or anywhere your passion takes you!

From tracking tornadoes to leading climate research, women are making waves in meteorology—but there’s still a gender gap in meteorology and STEM as a whole. This collage, created by one of my mentors, Vanessa Alonso, celebrates the incredible female meteorologists who inspire, educate, and forecast the future.
