UF AMERICAN METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY

Today, I am filled with a mix of emotions as I reach the end of my term as president of the Gator Chapter of the American Meteorological Society at UF. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve in this role and work alongside such dedicated individuals. Looking back on the past year, I am overwhelmed with pride for all that we have accomplished together. We launched our very own weather balloon from scratch, collaborated with UF GatorDays and IRHA for weather-themed events, promoted our own hurricane safety website geared toward UF students, provided relief to our North Central Florida community after Hurricane Idalia, coordinated with five other UF  clubs to watch the solar eclipse, visited NWS Tampa Bay, coordinated guest speakers, developed our own social media features, made UF AMS merchandise, became a finalist for UF New Student Organization of the Year, and even garnered support for the new Meteorology degree here at UF!

None of these achievements could have been done without the support of my wonderful team, Tan Dao, Michael Self, Selina Massmann, and Mariana Larsen, as well as our team of founding executive members, Nick Mesa, Zainab Ali, and Ashley Weinstein, and our advisor, Stephen Mullens. It has been an honor to serve my community through this role and provide our members with quality programming and professional development opportunities. The future of weather at UF is in great hands. Go Gators! #inallkindsofweather
